I know I would like a magpul prs stock on it.
I'm going to try and assemble my own upper.
    I'm thinking about the following.

    2 Stage trigger lpk.
    Milspec flat top upper.
    Milspec bcg
Miad or ergo type target grip.
Low pro gas block (already have an m4 no need for irons).

I'm wondering if I should go with a 20 or 24 inch barrel?
Does anyone have any input on the build?

unless you're going extreme ranges, dont worry about the 24", i have a 24" stainless varmint rig and its very very heavy, if you dont mind the unwieldy weight, then cool, go for it, the only thing it'll help w/ is the velocity

I like the White Oak Arms Tuned RRA 2 stage match trigger i have (i have about 200 rounds through it, living on campus ftl), but i've heard very very good things about geissele's

    Super Sniper 10x or Millet TRS2 10x

and i remember somewhere that has a more precision bolt for target/varmint uses and i can't remember for the life of me what company it was :o

The closest long range is 200 yards. There is a 400 yard range in state.

20" should be sufficient. Any heavier than that and I doubt you'll want to carry it around much.

you'd have to be going 500+ yards for it to really make a difference, i would just go w/ a 20", it'll be cheaper and lighter

WOA makes a 26" 1:7 barrel if you want to be different.

as for cost, just a quick look at Rock River Arms, the cost difference between a 20" varmint and a 24" varmint is a jaw dropping 10 bucks. http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=270

if youre going standard 20" you can just get the Service Rifle Match barrel from WOA, it has the Wylde + heavy barrel qualities

problem is that if you're going varmint/match, most barrels will be chambered in .223 for the closer tolerances in line w/ commercial match ammo

That will be good to 400 yards? What type of groups with match ammo?

295 for what appears to be a wylde chambered 26 match. Hmm seems excessive as long as the 20 does tight groups to 200 and decent at 400.

service rifle comp i believe is out to 600yds so a 20" service/cmp barrel will do that w/o a problem, if you want the 24" get it, noone's stopping you for my application, i felt the 24" was too long and too heavy, if i knew how to take the upper apart and send it to ADCO or somewhere i'd have them cut it to a 20" and flute it
