The only rear mid engine RWD sports car Honda ever made, besides the NSX. Gets 50MPG, 660cc, 1672lb curb weight, has 68,000 KM on it

:uh: forgot about S2000. Although, the S2000 doesn't have the engine in the back like this one does.

lol, I saw one of these on the 401 last week. Thing is small as hell. But if you could throw in a turbo or b series in there, wow.

I'm personally waiting for the mkiv supra to become legal this coming may

It's probably possible to throw a b series in with a bit of work, although atm my only plans for this car are to drive it for a bit, then sell it for a profit with my other import, then import something else, possibly an NSX, MR-2, or both.

The Honda Beat is really fun to drive though - it's not super fast, but it redlines at 9,000rpm and has excellent handling.

Well I know most importers dont really deal with the nsx because the price of buying one and shipping it to canada is the same price as a usdm nsx. At the same time, people who buy imported cars are having a hard time selling them. Guy I know has been trying to sell his R32 for months. Personally, I was so close to buying a jdm fd rx7 but bit my lip and am waiting for the mkiv supra. But the mr-2s are
    Which importer did you use?

I imported them myself, I used a company in japan that bid on the vehicles at auctions for me and shipped them out. By not using an importer over here, I saved approx. 40-50%.

wow, how did you do this?? How did you find the company in japan? Do they provide you with auction sheets and pictures of the cars? Did you have to send them a deposit before they started bidding? Did you have to pick up the car in BC and do all the importing paperwork yourself?

I just spent some time searching around for good exporters in japan, ended up using www.ibcjapan.co.jp , Had to put in a 100,000 yen deposit (about $900). They provide auction sheets, which they can translate for you if you phone them on skype, and pictures of all the cars, etc. If they see anything wrong with the cars at the auction that you bid on, they will cancel your bid for you, and you can get them to call you while they are at the auction. I live in BC so it is no problem for me to pick it up. They did all the paperwork for exporting and sent it to me express so that i could pick up my cars without too much hassle.

and the other dude that posted about seeing one on the 401, if its a silver one then he's actually a friend of mine, he's already made a custom widebody kit for it and is dropping in a hayabusa engine over the winter

right now prices are anywhere from $10-$20K depending on condition, but JDM 93's aren't legal in Canada right now. you're gonna have to wait until May 2008 before you can import a Mark IV (has to be 15 years old to the MONTH of manufacture). Until then, auction prices are unreliable because if a whole bunch of people decide to import them at that time, average auction prices will go up.

paid about $3,500 at auction for my Beat, rated 4b at auction with 67,000km.. after shipping, taxes and duties, and replacing all the parts that need to be DOT compliant, etc.. it came to about $7,500

Ya, I know I have to wait until May, but I've been trying to price this out and it seems that no importers have accurate quotes yet. When you say $10-20k, is that landed in BC? Im looking for a 3.5 grade, something that needs a paint job.

I can't decide if that's the best thing I've ever seen or the worst.
