The SB-900 is tits, but I really wish they kept the 800 around. Not having a moderately-priced Nikon flash with PC sync sucks.

    little of both:o

because of the adapter so I could fire with a PW I usually tie it down...well I didn't this time. It was doing very well all day, but then at the last spot I wanted to shoot I was raising the stand and there it went...came crashing down:wtc:. Kinda knew from the get go it wasn't going to be salvageable. So I replaced it the same afternoon.

nah those dude were using Alkaline batteries in their flashes, and were wondering why the flash kept shutting off. The fucking batteries were heating up triggering teh shut off. I shut consistently on Red Carpets at 5-8fps for long duratiosn of time never had a shut off issue with my eneloops. Even brought it to a pool party in 108 degree heat, still never shut off. And this was firmware 1.00. now ive updated my firmware to the newest one that raises the temp shut off and definitely have not run into any issues.

Funny that you brought up Alkaline batteries, because IIRC I read that NOT using Alkaline batteries will cause this issue. And people were complaining on the boards saying that SB900's literature states that it can use both Alkaline and Nimh batteries and how using Alkaline will drive up their battery cost.

Regardless, it's good to hear that you are not running into any issues.

Only if it had a built in bounce card, a 10 cent feature.
