I posted before about a coworker selling an m4 upper and he got desperate so I talked him down to 750 and picked it up yesterday.

I am a total n00b and want to find a decent lower and obviously want to spend as little as possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

basically any lower will work, and any LPK. It really comes down to what logo you want on the side

Well I don't really care. I was browsing around on AR15.com and it seems like a lot of the lowers come with stocks, which I don't need. I can't reply to any threads though because they wouldnt let me sign up with my Gmail account so I have to wait until I can check my work email tomorrow.

You want a stripped lower and a lower parts kit. RRA, stag, whatever brand you like.

Man this local guy is confusing the hell out of me. I hit him up asking about any lowers he might have and here is how the convo turned:

HIM: is there a bolt in with that charging handle?

</B></U></I>Me: ya Colt Semi Bolt and Carrier

    </B></U></I>Him: colt semi?

    </B></U></I>Him: hrm

</B></U></I>him: take a picture of the bolt from the side if you don't mind

</B></U></I>Him: it's very rare to get an actual colt semi bolt....

    </B></U></I>Me: K

</B></U></I>Him: want to make sure it's not really a full auto bolt/carier

</B></U></I>Him: ... that has been known to happen

</B></U></I>Me: anything in particular I should take the pic of?

    </B></U></I>Him: just a side shot

    </B></U></I>Me: uploading

    </B></U></I>HIm: k

    </B></U></I>Me: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s188/DrewDownMR2/m4sheezy003Medium.jpg

    </B></U></I>HIm: well that's fucking strage

    </B></U></I>Him: that's 100% semi

    </B></U></I>HIm: lol

    </B></U></I>Me: lol

</B></U></I>Me: Ya Im just going on what my friend told me

</B></U></I>Me: but he seems to know his stuff

    </B></U></I>Him: I havn't seen a bolt like that before

</B></U></I>Him: one min, lemme show you a normal one

</B></U></I>Me: any mistake Im sure wouldnt be to intentionally rip me off

    </B></U></I>Him: http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/uppers/8448505-s.asp

</B></U></I>Him: see the hoop at the bottom?

    </B></U></I>Him: that's normal

    </B></U></I>Him: i wouldn't say yours is wrong

    </B></U></I>Him: it's just..... different

    </B></U></I>Me: ya I see that

</B></U></I>Him: i've never seen anything like that

</B></U></I>ME: both parts are stamped with a plain looking "C"

</B></U></I>ME but other than that no markings that I can see

    </B></U></I>HIm: that's probably colt..

</B></U></I>Him if you hav eproblems with the rifle cycling funny, you may want to change the bolt out at that point

    </B></U></I>Him: just more weight

</B></U></I>Me: Guess Ill wait and see

    </B></U></I>Him: yeah

</B></U></I>Me: sell me the lower for way cheap and we can find out saturday!!

    </B></U></I>Him: lol

</B></U></I>Him: as a dealer, it costs me $250 to get a quality lower cheep, wholesale

</B></U></I>Him: and that's not what I sell them to the public for lol

So whats so weird about my bolt? Anyway dont think I will be buying anything from him.

A Colt 'semi' bolt would be an AR15 bolt as opposed to an M16 bolt ('full auto bolt' totally fine). You'll be fine.

He's fucking lying. $250? If the lower is made to spec, it's quality. If it's a COMPLETE lower, with a milspec buffer tube, then $250's not so bad, if it's just the stripped receiver, that's awful.

Hey, I just noticed you're in Tucson. :hay:

Come up here and go to Ameetec Arms, a local dealer, and buy one of their complete lowers. They'll cut you a deal in person.

    Good guys, good product.
