Sig factory P228 w 2 13 rounders for $550. never seen a 228 a person and i thought they were harder to find. Seems some people like them over the 229? did i do okay?

Sorry no pictures, i bought it and had to leave on this business trip.

whats the difference between a 229 other than the trigger guard?

The 228 is the shorter model of the older 226. People who own both generally like the 228 more is they say the older models balance better than the new ones. I do think that with my older 226 vs a newer one. In fact when searching for a 226 I only wanted the older W German model.

BTW, $550 was a good deal. Maybe I will see you on sigforum.com

I bought mine very lightly used for $565 a couple of years ago, so I'd say you did pretty well. Mine only came with 10rnders since it was from during the AWB.

People like the 228 over a lot of the other Sig 9mm pistols because it balances so well.

Here are my three SIGs. L to R: my nearly new P226, my new never fired P228, and my P229 in .40.

Yes, and they have no purpose other then to kill cops and babies.

The only Sig I'm considering right now, is the P250, and I don't know enough about it to pull the trigger yet, so to speak.

I do love the P229 though. Maybe some day.

you really should shoot the 228. I don't know what cal your 226 is, but i'm betting the sig probably balances better than the 226. I've only shot .40 out of a 226, and have only held a 229. the 228 is still my fav 9mm i've ever shot.

I just wish that I wouldn't keep having problems with riding the mag catch on the last shot with the Hogue wrap-arounds on. It doesn't happen very often, but often enough that if I'm going to be carrying it, i'm going to go back to the hard plastic, or maybe just try the Hogue grip panels.

    My old, lots fired 228

The 228 has a folded steel slide vs. 229 milled steel. The 229 is a little heavier up top due to this, and many feel this gives the 228 a better balanced feel in the hand compared to its chunkier twin.

My P226 is 9mm. Not sure why I have never fired my P228. I don't see that many in NIB condition, so maybe I just want to keep it new. Besides, I do have two other SIGs to play with....

plus, down the line an unfired p228 would be worth its weight in gold

I am going to get to shoot it next weekend since I get to go back from the job site. I only got to put 50 rounds through my Kimber Gold Match since i bought it almost half a year ago so it will be exciting.

never was fond of the sig look, and was always a beretta fan, (owned a 96D, 92FS, 92S, 950BS) but I am thinking of getting a P226 in .40 now.

Needs more light, maybe set your exposure compensation + a few clicks, you're almost there!
