Im sick of getting 15mpg in my truck, and paying $200 + a month on gas so I bought a scooter today :o 125cc so its a quick, I wanted something that would get out of its own way, and go over 35mph. Plus this gets between 85-100 mpg  (thats what the salesman told me anyways) I bought this for commuting to work and back, church , and family/friends houses in the area. I know I'll probably get tons of crap from people for buying a scooter, but I dont care, I'll be savings tons of money :)

Gas milage was why I bought it. I have basically no motorcycle experience at all and thought this would be good choice, and for short commutes this is perfect. Its not manly at all but I don't give a shit, cause I won't be bitching at $4-5 a gallon for gas.

I bought it brand new. The brand is Kymco, Kymco is a Taiwanese company. I got the Agility 125. Its 125cc so I need to get insurance and register the scooter as well as getting my motorcycle endorsement on my drivers license. I paid $2200 for it. I was told it gets between 85-100mpg so it should pay for its self, as long as I drive it like I intended and keep the truck parked as much as possible.

    i miss my scooter :(

i had a 02 zuma, and would be dusting, literally the kymco's in campus. although i would gun it so often i'd get about 40-50mpg.

you'll enjoy parking virtually anywhere you want!

I've got a 2005 Piaggio BV200, 200cc, hits just over 80 MPH, and gets about 65 MPG. I'm selling it now, though, looking to get a 750cc cruiser so I can make longer trips. I can make long trips on this scooter, but I feel bad about running it right up by the redline for so long to run on the interstate.

It's got 16" wheels, dual shocks front and rear, disk brakes front and rear, pretty fun to ride. Just did about 60 miles today with my friend with him riding his brand-new Suzuki V-Strom DL650. He's still breaking it in (just went over 100 miles on the odometer today), so keeping up with him was no problem, he wasn't going over 5k RPM.

 I drove a scooter like you have it was nice. The few days I have ridden my scooter to work I found my 125cc is perfect for what I need. 85% of the places I go are 5-7 miles from my apartment. I plan to work my up to an R6 in a few years :o

Scooters are like fat chicks, fun to ride, but you don't want your buddies to find out! :p

so if you go like 40mph, are you redlining it? because i was thinking of getting a 150cc, but where i live the speed limits on the main streets are 55 mph and and i don't want to be redlining the thing every time i ride it to keep up with traffic.

You should be fine I can cruise at 40mph no problem, not sure if I'm close to redline no tach on my scooter. The roads I'm on here are 30-45mph and have had no trouble keeping up with traffic

Congrats! Now show us some pics with you whipping it around a parking lot or something. Also take a pic of the gas pumps the next time you fill up. How big is the gas tank on that thing like 2 gal?

:wavey: Its not cold. I work outside year round, it feel good out. Plus driving from Prince and Santa Fe to Broadway and Mineral is a pretty quick ride.
