Picked it up Friday. She (yes, a lady in her upper 40's, low 50's owned it and it's too much for her) inherited it from her husband who passed away. She was asking $6000, but some negotiating and other circumstances brought the price down to $4400. We were at $5200, but some other things came up when my buddy looked at it the first time. Thus, renegotiation and we stopped at $4400.

Just 4600 miles and '99% mint. Already has a PC3 and a yosh slip on, but I'm headed a black D&D for more noise :)

it actually had weird running/idle issues from sitting for a while, but I believe it's just bad gas, plugs, etc.

it was actually her husbands bike who has passed away. She does ride though! '06 SV650. Damn cool chick.

I'm jealous of seeing people post things like this when I see K2 GSXR600's going for around 5 with similar or more miles on the off season :ugh:

you can lean a bike to the edge of the tires and then park it in a dirty garage or driveway and you'll get those. and you don't actually get chicken strips from a mile and a half ride home. real ones are where the tire is worn so bad in the middle that you have a flat spot.

what was so wrong with it that you were able to knock $1200 off of the price? doesn't look like anythings wrong with it.

yeah... about that... I didn't know her situation till I arrived to pick up the bike!

Also, $6000 asking to $4400 is $1600, not $1200 ;). At any rate, it was the best deal i could find at $5200 (original negociated price), but at $4400 it was the deal of the year.

biawokauns: I'm typically a 'loud' guy and I prefer a black pipe for this color-combo verses the titanium/silver looking Yosh that's on it now. Either way, I dont' change pipes for the minute HP/TQ gains... Simply for looks and sound. So, it doesn't matter that the D&D slip-on makes over 7hp more than stock. Simply put, this Yosh is just too quiet for my taste.

most people make CF pipes, if you're into that kind of thing. d&d, from experience is just obnoxiously loud, :dunno:. as for HP, i'd question any gains from a slip on

for god's sake don't embarrass that poor bike by putting the shittiest exhaust out there on it :( I'm sure you can find something else loud that won't make it sound like a sick lawnmower.

Keep the Yoshi that's on it.

If you really want a D&D, take it apart and repack it using more packing material. It will still have the D&D growl, just now as loud and obnoxious.

By the way, why do you want a louder exhaust?

:werd: D&D is just "look at me my pipes louder than yours :fawk:!"

If you want loud, at least 2Bros has a low growl to it

regarding loudness/etc... it's more of a personal preference. I simply like something louder than the existing yosh.

Honestly, I"m likely to pick up a few different exhausts and simply sell the all but the one I like.

regarding power, I'm not above having it dyno'd in it's current condition and re-dynoing when I find the pipe I like (after loading the appropriate PC3 map.) My local place is only $40 for the dyno time. However, i can't, nor do I want, to dyno each pipe I buy. Note: not trying to sound like a baller... I'm planning on buying used pipes and trying them to see what I like. Certainly not considering buying new...

    Regarding price...
the bike had starting/idling issues when my buddy looked at it because she hadn't ran it since he passed. Basically, the bike struggled to run/start. So, mentioned it might be something serious and the only thing I'd be willing to do would be in the low-mid 4000 range. Thus, we ended up at $4400.

Regarding disassembly and repacking... it's possible. However, what would one use for packing material? Conversely, what would the Yosh sound like If I 'removed' packing material?

If I missed any points, remind me and I'll comment.

D&D sells a repacking kit or you should be able to get it from a local bike shop.

Yoshi without packing sounds like a hollow tin can.

then the unpacked Yosh is no longer on the table.

I had a Two Brothers on my '02 954 and it sounded simply awesome. BIG fan of that setup.

My Yosh is a 'TRS' pipe, if I recall correctly. It sounds good, just a little quiet for my tastes. Perhaps I should research different Yosh pipe options?

Just don't get a D&D, sounds like junk. There are so many great options for that bike. Look into something like Arrow, Akrapovic or Yosh. If sound is what your going for, look into a 'race only' version.

based off the wisdom of OT, I shall avoid the D&D (unless someone nearly gives me one)
