I bought a 87 accord, 4 door, I got it for $200 so I figured the price was right. It has a new clutch, power windows, fuel injected, ac, sunroof. What mods can i do? I definately don't want to rice it out whatsoever, I was thinking just doing suspension, is there any tasteful body mods I can do? thanks in advance (I'm usually a muscle car guy but imports have been rubbing off on me lately:noes:)

When it comes to ease of modifications for Honda in the 80's, Civics/CRX's are way easier to mod than Accords. Srsly. Drive it. Part it out when you've ragged it out. Rinse/Repeat. That simple. :)

In other news, I found a 12A rotary that looks to be in almost perfect condition at the local one. Going back this weekend to see if it's still there....

At most throw in a turbo and smoke the local dumbasses in your sleeper Accord.
Or maybe NOS until the engine blows.

I think the 'fix it up so i can sell it for a profit mod' is a pretty good one. Accords are sick sports cars.

    Wash/wax
Throw in some new speakers and a decent head unit with an AUX port/iPod connection
Tint windows to keep interior cooler
Oil change, tranny flush, coolant system flush, repalce accessory belts and timing belt, etc

Seriously, only do mods that other "normal" people will appreciate, keep it maintained, and when you're ready sell it for a profit.

4W, it's a 22-year-old car. Nobody is going to appreciate any mods at this point.

Maybe "mod" wasn't the right word. I wouldn't consider nice paint, window tint, and a good sounding stereo "mods" really. But anyone interested in a car would want those thing I think, unlike slapping on a wing or putting on headers, etc.

Cut the exhaust at the headers and dump it behind the passenger side door. Take off the air box and fix a cone filter directly to the TB. Buy a functional hood scoop and put it directly over the TB. Advance the timing until you get knock with the Sunco 100octane fuel. Run a hotter spark. Gut the interior and relocate the battery to the trunk. Build a strut tower brace for the front and rear and replace the shocks with some better ones. Get some sticky/wider rubber on there and drive it batshit insane until it goes kaboom.

Essentially what we did to the B16 we dropped into my buddy's CRX in highschool. What a fucking fun car.

I agree, those are nice to have, but the car is just too damn old.

I dunno man, it sounds like it could be really fun. I mean, it's an '87 -- it's already a piece of shit.

I think I'd do all that shit, and then get antique plates since it's more than 20 years old.

No, he should tint the windows, install a nice stereo system, and restore it to its original beauty. It was $200, I really hope he isn't expecting it to be a good daily driver.

FYI, nearly anything made from around '85 on was intended to be disposable.

I agree, tints, EXTREME cleaning, a nice stereo, AND ALARM!!! Yes get an alarm and be sure to write down serial numbers and anything else. You're about to drive an old honda, everyone and their mothers knows how to beak into one. I'm considering getting a better alarm and lojack ($395 to install) on my grand prix. Already had someone steal the radio, parked in the wrong area I have a feeling it could go missing.

 Yes, install a $150 alarm and $400 in lowjack on your $200 vehicle.

No I told him just an alarm, you ever had your shit broken into? Doesn't matter if its a piece, the fact that you now have to get a new window and all your shits gone which could cost more than the whole is a big pain in the ass and causes nothing but problems. That $150 alarm stops some of it.
