Trying to run my Xtant X1244. I believe its a 2 ohm stable sub. A dealer recommended the Boston Acoustics GT22. I'm not too savvy but the amp appears to draw different amount of current (i guess depending on the gauge used). The amp has everything i want, ease of use, exterior fuse, cooling system, and reasonable price ($299). Thoughts?

That sounds like a good deal but I am replacing my JL500/1. I can't believe it fucking gave out. I don't like the fact that there is no external fuse on them.

Boston makes some good stuff. I have their z6 components. Their amps are solid and they are rated at 12.6V so you'll probably be gettin a bit more out of them. Try going to a dealer and see if you can get a better deal on them, sometimes they can hook you up a bit. Also, if you ever have any problems and need tech support/customer service, BA has some top notch service. I dont think you will be disappointed at all.

i just replaced my JL500/1 with a Boston Acoustics GT22. I've noticed that my car's voltmeter does not go crazy like when i had the jl, i guess it's because the BA is a A/B amp. Other than that.. sounds great.

The JLs aren't particularly efficent as far as Class D goes, but they should still easily beat out a Class AB amp :dunno: Both are good designs and well built though. Maybe something was wrong with the JL all along?
