I just bought a boresnake for my 870 since ive been going out every other week now. It doesnt say whether or not to use solvent or not when you pass it through, what does WND do?

Use solvent, that's what makes it work.

I run mine dry but I only use it at the range. At home I clean my barrels with a real one piece rod. Bore snakes work pretty good when clean but when they are dirty it's like wiping your ass with dirty toliet paper.

This is why I don't own a Bore Snake, after one or two passes you're essentially rubbing your bore with dirt.

Once dirty, is there any good way to get them clean again? I'm guessing just throwing it in with a load of laundry would be a very bad idea.

I've thrown mine in the laundry with rags and such...no problems yet.

I just hand wash mine in the sink with hot water and dish soap and hang it up to dry, no big deal

ive used my boresnakes on my AR15's, 10/22, sig and kahr and have never had a problem - the barrels always look shiney

  14. Same here. My 10/22 that shoots superb groups @ 50 yards has never seen a cleaning rod. My AR has 2500+ rounds through it in the last year and has never seen anything but a boresnake either.
