    just use the boot.ini

    it should look like this:
    [boot loader]
    [boot loader]
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\directory of default OS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\directory of default OS="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\directory of 2nd OS="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

change the name in quotes so as you can tell them apart. the text in quotes is for your benefit so it doesnt matter what is says. sure, you could just remember primary is on top, but id still recommend doing something name was to differentiate

If - for some reason - windows's own boot loader doesn't cut it for you, the open source ones usually distributed with linux should have no trouble loading multiple windowses. Lilo and grub are the most common ones.

  5. LILO is better for Duel boots and GRUB is better for single work stations

@ least that's the way it has always been for me

that's the dumbest reason ever. BOTH work equally well, except GRUB gives you a nice graphical list from the start, and it's a more robust bootloader. Stick with grub.

  9. I had a hard time getting Lilo to duel boot with windows XP

I gave him my opinion on what worked best for me

That's why I said @ least that's the way it has always been for me

You have your opinions I have mine

But before you just said LILO was better for dual, yet you're saying you had a hard time with it? I'm not following your explanation. Have you even tried to set a GRUB boot option for Windows up? It's just as easy, if not easier the LILO.

Sound's like your just tossing words around to sound like you know what your talking about. Maybe even writing in full sentences would prove different as well.

  11. I've been using Linux for a Long Time

Suse Mandrake Slack Ubuntu etc etc now I'm using Debian Debian is the Only OS that is installed on my computer-- I am not duel booting on this pc.

Like I said on my last post IMO LILO is best for duel booting

I had a hard time getting LILO to work with win XP-- so what?

that doesn't mean that LILO is no good it just means that I had a hard time making it work with win XP.

I would rather Duel boot with LILO and use Grub for singles work stations

it's like someone making a post asking which version of Linux is the best

I'd say Debian But If I were to say that I had a hard time installing Debian 2 3 post latter doesn't mean that Debian is not a good OS it just means that I had a hard time installing it

    get it got it good.

i think you're a moron. grub is clearly the winner for dual boots. If for no other reason than it's arrow-based selection process.

Nope. Maybe you could write it in proper english using proper grammatical skills? Your sentences were hard to follow, and felt like a 12 year old AOL kid was writing them. :mamoru:

the thing is, you aren't giving reasons - just stating opinion. that doesn't really help much. imo, lilo and grub are equally as easy to work with. grub is prettier, which jollyogre already said. i would use whichever one i found first.
