I'm having some trouble with my computer booting up now. Sometimes it will restart just fine, but other times it will boot up, show the BIOS testing screen (not sure what else to call it) and then just goes to a black screen. The HDD activity light is constantly on when it goes to the black screen. If I leave the computer for awhile or try restarting 11ty billion times, it finally boots up again. This is really annoying and I'd like to fix it ASAP. Suggestions?

    Specs:
    AMD Athlon Mobile Barton 2500+
Shuttle Nforce2 MB (not sure what model right now)
    ATI x800 pro
    1GB Corsair PC3200 RAM
    80GB Maxtor HD as primary
200GB Hitachi as storage (I also can't seem to format this, it always gets to the end and then says formatting can not be completed)
Windows XP w/ SP2 and all of the latest updates

Do you have another video card you can try inplace of the one you have now?

This problem was actually happening with my old computer which had a 6800 ultra in it (the PSU died and my 6800 ultra won't fit in my shuttle). The only thing I took from the old system was my 200GB HD, so I'm actually going to try disconeccting that and see if it helps.

EDIT: Disconnecting the hard drive did it. Except now I only have 80GB of storage. :(
