Anyone running XP off of a FW800 external drive?

I'm needing to dual boot at work now (no longer a dev, moved into BI & DWH), and want know how the performance will be with a FW800 external drive.

The server itself is hosted elsewhere, it's just my development environment.

As long as it works, there shouldn't be a performance problem. My only concern is if it would work at all. I have never tried this. I have XP on an internal SATA drive on my Mac Pro.

Well it's to an aluminum iMac.

I already have an XP install running fine on my BootCamp/VM Fusion with NTFS (NTFS-3G installed with MacFuse) running well. I'm gonna bring in a FW400 drive to work tomorrow, image my VM onto that, give it a shot and hope for the best!
