    Mine got split in half.

Half when I finished training, and the other half on the 4th anniversary of my enlistment.

I had a bonus of 7,000. After I finished OSUT I went and filled out the paperwork and around 5200 showed up on my LES after tax.

It all depends on how they wrote the contract, I got a 12k bonus paid lump sum when I got to my first duty station (minus an assload of taxes of course). Regardless of how it is split you should get the first payment not long after you get to your first permanent duty station. Most nowadays seem to be half when you get to your duty station and half later sometime during your enlistment, mine was like 7 years ago so things probably changed.

This is how every bonus i had was paid. I never heard of a bonus tacked on to each pay period.

mostly the pay out over a period of time, most recruiter do look out for you that much, and then some are asshole. apparently im supposed to get paid 7,000 right after osut and then the other 5 paid out over the year or something liek that.

I get it split up for my entire time, getting paid 1/6 once every year, starting on the one year mark of my enlistment.

You get a lump sum after you arrive at your first duty station following graduation from AIT. If your bonus is larger than the maximum allowed, the remainder will be split up into annual payments until the end of your current enlistment. (note: in the quote below, the max lump sum is $7k. That might have increased recently.)

Nice bonus, I think I only picked up 2k for goin' to basic 2 months early. Though I picked up a nice $32k bonus for reenlisting for 6 years.

We USED to get 60k bonuses for reenlisting for 6 years. Now we get a pat on the back and maybe we can stay in the career field. Stupid bonus chasers ruined it for the rest of us.
