Shot a Marlin 880 (?) with a cheap 3x9 scope on it that I really liked a lot. I picked off two clothespins at 50yd standing (they were holding our target on the stand and we were ready to leave, so I figured I'd try and get em).

Any other suggestions for a good, inexpensive, bolt action .22lr? Also, scope suggestions would be nice also :o

probably going to a fairly standard answer

    I don't have a bolt .22, but I have a basic BSA 3-9x40 IR on my 10/22 and it works like a champ for a $40 scope.

If you want a CZ, better get one before they raise prices again.

Anschutz 1907, or if a budget is a factor, CZ 452.

I've got a marlin bolt action but in .22mag. It's been a great gun, never given me any trouble and I've put 100s of rounds through it. Had it since I was about 12. I always take it with me when I'm deer hunting in case I come across some hogs or varmints and don't feel like blasting them with my 7mm rem mag...hehe

I have a Marlin 981T that I really like. Tube fed so it can run LR, L and S reliably.

The 39A is an EXCELLENT 22. They don't get near the credit they deserve.

I loved my Romanian M1969 22 trainer which was super accuret
(1 inch 5 round groups @ 100 yards with cci mini mags) if you can find one they are cheap, I got mine for 65 bucks.

I'm kind of a rifle noob, but isn't 1" groups at 100yd the gold standard for where a rifle/shooter should be?

that's 1 MOA, and i guess you could call it a standard, loosely though :dunno:

  17. It's impressive when people actually shoot that, or better. It's amazing with mini-mag ammo.

    Post pics, turd.

I need to steal my grandfathers back until I can get a can. Stoking it with like 30 CB's and going to wage war on critters is a ridiculous amount of it.

Yessir. It was definitely creepy the first time I lit one off. I thought it squib'd.

And my arm gets tired cycling the action 20+ times. :mamoru:

I need to shoot it more, though. I don't think I've got even 200rd through it. :wtc:

Yeah. Funny story on how I got mine: my dad bought the rifle off a friend of his who needed some cash. He already had a good deer rifle though and just put the 7mm under the bed to store it till he figured out what he was gonna do with it. Fast forward 7 years later and my dad is buying a new bed, he moves out the old one and what does he see?? The 7mm rifle laying right where he left it. Lmao. I needed a deer hunting rifle so he decided to give it to me since he wasn't using it for much, obviously.

Mario Cart and Golden Eye on N64 FTMFW!

Every now and then my old roomate busts out with his N64 and we have NFL Blitz tournaments. That game was the shit.
