I'm gonna go buy some 2x6s from Lowes tomorrow and was just curious as to how I would secure them since I work out by my lonesome. Can I just stick them under my shirt or would it be wise to wrap a band or something around me?

I do them in the power rack and use a band to hold them in place.

just bought mine today. I secured them together with bungees. Resting on the chest was fine for rep sets, but when I was psyching myself up for my 1RM sets they tended to move. I almost dropped 415 on my face when the boards slid down and smacked my chin. Luckily two of my buddies walked in when I was going for max and held it for me.

I'm gonna try bungees down to two heavy dumbells next week if I don't have someone around to hold the boards.

I read an article somewhere once where they used those "ab shrinker" elastic bands velcroed around their midsection and the boards....

I had a friend that glued heavy duty velcro to the back of the boards and then to the front of a cut up sweat shirt. Worked awesome.....well not as good as someone holding the boards and getting a lift off, but as good as it gets doing it alone.
