I just saw a black one in the grocery store parking lot. It caught my eye and I swung around to figure out what it was. After some reading I gather that they're pretty rare, and were tough to import to the US? I should've snapped a pic, but I honestly didn't know anything about it. Anyone ever see them around?

I've never seen one in real life.

I've seen one or two, but then I do live in the UK.

From what I remember they were pretty expensive when launched, though they are a seriously cool piece of design.

Oh, and Jeremy Clarkson's wife had one for a long time. That my Z1 trivia exhausted.

They slide down into the body and rise back up into the normal position. Every decade or so, some manufactuer has to try and reinvent the door. Delorean in the 80s and BMW in the early 90s with this silly thing.

Actually, its funny that you bring this up. I just saw my first Z1 on Rt 2 in CT on Friday evening. It was white.

Its a pretty gay car imo.
