    BMW E36 92-94ish 325i or 325is
    5 speed
    192hp 6cyl
    rwd
fully loaded w/ leather, sunroof, etc

    VS.

    VW Corrado VR6
    93-95
    5 speed
    178hp 6 cyl
    fwd
fully loaded w/ leather, sunroof, etc

Pretty much damn near identical stats and both are pretty close in price. I have always been a VW guy, and Corrado's have always been a dream car of mine, but have always LOVED BMW's also.

Both cars will be made into crazy shop car beasts.... Turbo'd w/ standalone, Built bottom end, etc. For those of you saying "fwd sucks".....If i buy a Corrado, it'll be getting an AWD syncro swap done to it. I have the complete system in my garage right now. Its winter here 6 months a year, so AWD comes in handy.

At this point in my life, living here, I'd have to say the Corrado. For one, the insurance would be a lot lower. Also, I could use the space and convenience of the hatchback, and in the winter around here FWD > RWD.

well i drive a bimmer so im kind of bias...but before that i had a vwjetta so i can give my opinion ;)

with the bimmer you get more luxury, the BEAUTIFUL sound of the inline 6 and RWD...with the coraddo you get very unique styling, very good, reliable VR6 motor, cheaper to mod, etc.

    now the cons....

with the bimmer as soon as something breaks be prepared to shell out some money to fix...with the corrado...stuff is easier to DYI if you will...easier to work on a dub than a bimmer.

    my verdict: BMW

around here AWD > RWD (remember, if i buy a raddo, we're turning it into a syncro)

I'm not concerned one bit about cost of repairs. Same goes for insurance. Insurance here in Sask is a joke. Any car (other than exotics) will cost <$1300 for the entire year! :eek3:

    My westfalia costs $232 :bigthumb:

I've yet to be that impressed by the handling of a E36. I've driven a few stock and my old vw passat (donor car for the awd) handled and felt soooo much nicer.

This is going to be a tough decision. :hs: At least i'm deciding between 2 sweet cars, rather than say a vw new beetle and a toyota echo. :big grin:

I know. A guy I work with is from Saskatoon. 19 years old, Eagle Talon (2-door sports car), 600 bucks a year. Fuck, it'd be at least 3k a year to insure it here.

You get a HUGE advantage living in sask when it comes to cars. Insurance is uber cheap, AND there's absolutely no car inspections (aircare, etc) ever.

They cost more there as well, but the cheap insurance makes up for it. And we don't have any inspections here (Alberta) either AFAIK. If we do I'd be very very suprised, since we're like the least environmentally concerned province.

Yeah, cars cost more here than alberta... that's why every single car my family (less 2 ) have ever purchased have been from Alberta. :big grin:

And yeah, Alberta has no inspections either.

You live in Calgary or Edmonton?

There's a real nice silver 94 raddo in edmonton. :hs: Should be going there in 2 weeks to buy something

Yea, it'd be cool to live on the Sask side of Lloydminster, you could do the 3 hour drive to get a cheap car in Edmonton then drive back home and insure it cheap

    I'm in Edmonton.

nice corrados are just too rare to pass up. theres a billion E36's out there but so few corrados. E36s are good cars don't get me wrong.

problem with corrado though is terrible reliability.
