Sometime in the next few months, I plan on selling my 07 Toyota Yaris, and getting a BMW 5 or 7 series. I dont really like the 3 series because everyone who has a BMW has a 3 series, I dont see the 5's as much, hardly ever see a 7 series. Id get about $10k, which could get me an early-mid 90s one. Considering the 750iL was $79,500 in 1992 according to autotrader, I assume they are still extremely nice. However, Ive heard they are huge. Has anyone ever ridden in or driven one? How was it?

I would stay away from the 7s as they tend to need more maintenance (they come with more gadgets). Me being more bias towards e39s (1997-2003 5 series) I give you this link:

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searc...awsp=false&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&systime=

This is for 97+ 528is. They come with the straight 6 2.8 with 193 hp. Not the fastest one out there, but it is a good starting point. There are only a few trouble spots with the cars, and as long as you stay on top of things, you will be fine.

if you want performance get a 3series, they are nice and affordable. if you want a nice car get the 5 series.

if you want a 5 series, get a 2.7T audi a6. they are faster, just as good looking, just as reliable, awd, and just as big.

I was just throwing ideas out there. I wont actually be buying anything for a while, just wanted some opinions on the series.

Your maintenance every year on an E32 750iL will equal one Yaris. I wouldn't touch it.
