I have a Pathfinder with 2 stock midbass speakers in the back, and two polk audio EX602a speakers in the front, run off of a pioneer DEH 5500 reciever. Therre is a factory amp that also powers the speakers. The two rear speakers are blown, and sound like shit. I was planning on just cutting the wires so the wouldn't do anything anymore, but my dad told me if I did that it would burn out my reciever or the amp or something like that because you can't just not have a load going from it. Is this true? Or can I just cut the wires?

Uhh, no, not having a load on anything wont hurt it (at least I can't think of anything that would do that).

You should be fine cutting the wires, but make sure they are insulated and not touching anything.
