marne = 3ID's motto, "rock of the marne"

I left 3HBCT 3ID back in february...overall a great unit to be a part of. its geographically separated from the rest of the Division so you are exempt from alot of BS

The units enjoy taking on the "hard mission" and enduring hardships

that's great to hear actually. my last deployment had me in an STB, which meant the entire BDE command group was right next to my shop... it really sucked balls. i think the same thing will happen in this next deployment, but at least this new unit will have its shit together.

i'm also a new NCO, so i'll enjoy getting to work with new soldiers.

Congrats on being a new NCO..do you know what Battalion you are going to?
Unless the missions have changed when I was last in the "no shit, here is our Iraq mission" most of the battalions will have a pretty large battle space and will be disconnected from the BCT headquarters...unless you are BSTB of course.

If I werent slated to be the BCT battle captain, I would have stayed until the end of this upcoming deployment. Benning is a great post overall and you don't realize it until you end up in a place like Ft Gordon.

At least you will be compensated if you are stoplossed and really want to get out.

i'm a 25N, which is a brigade commo asset. most people in this MOS are put in a BSTB. i'm most likely going to end up in a signal company within that battalion.

oh, and i'll die before i hit augusta again

i cant wait to leave augusta, this place sucks

yeah i had to look up your MOS online, it seems to be pretty new. Try to request going out to one of the Combat Outposts that get setup...if you dont mind 'harsher' conditions and less garrison style rules, the COPs are the best place during a deployment

Either way it should be fun, 3HBCT 3ID is really good unit and it has a great history overall.
