So I just bought a dell 10 blade blade server and I'm looking for suggestions as to what OS's I should use.

I currently run rhel on my servers, but looking for other options. Any recommendations?

We have 3 of those blade enclosures at work. Most are Windows 2003 and 2008 running nicely. I've got Debian on another running VMware Server 2.0. 2k3 running VMware Workstation on another box. We're using fiber channel cards connected to our Xiotech SAN .. fun stuff. They are all the std blades except for 2, those two are dual quad code chips with 16GBs of ram. Those are the 'power houses', one runs the Asessor's software which keeps track of home sale, values, etc. Another runs the Treasurer's system which keeps track of taxes paid, due, calculates them out, etc.

I know what it is, I was just curious if you ran it. I currently have rhel5 running with webmin on my dedicated servers but I want to switch to whm/cpanel for the blade server I think.

cpanel is nothing more than a security issue waiting to happen.

Once you have your methods down, setting up a relatively secure webserver with CentOS should take no more than 30 minutes from start to finish.

    ESPECIALLY if you're using vmware...
