i have the white macbook. the juiced up one where the only difference between mine and the blackbook is hd space and....black/white difference.

why not instead of paying more for a bigger hd. take that money and get a western digital external HD. then you have more hd space and all your stuff is backed up

Call me gay if you must, but I like the looks of the black better.

i also have the higher end white macbook that you have. i think the blackbook is for people who are scared/too lazy to change out the hard drive or people that want something that is the "top of the line", even though it is just a slightly upgraded and colored macbook

i think its a cool looking macbook, but the price is not worth it. also, it appears to look like a standard dell. some people might want that, some might want to stand out with a white macbook, who knows. apple also made the 2nd gen. 8gb black nano, to me it looks like the 1st gen black nano.

i like what they did with the ipod video, where they offered a color choice, but didn't charge extra for it. they should do that for the macbooks, but i doubt they ever will

i think you can configure a white macbook with a 120gb hard drive and the price difference between the white macbook and blackbook is $50. they kinda rape you on the cost of the drive though

actually, I like the black macbook better because of the looks. It reminds me of the older powerbooks (aka Pismo).

I'm a teacher, and in our school we have 4 carts that we can move around the building with 30 white iBooks in each... I bough a BlackBook because the white just reminds me of those, at least this way mine stands out from the school computers...

Plus I thing the black looks nicer...

they're for people that are willing to pay extra for black. :dunno:

Apple made no bones about it since you can spec the 2 GHz white macbook to the blackbook levels and it's cheaper. so yes, the black is a ripoff if you don't care about color. to others it's not.

I don't like the matte black look. Why can't they do a glossy black? Sure you'll see fingerprints, but at least it wont be greased in.
