I think they look cool but I wouldn't spend that much on a strap. I'd also be nervous about having all that weight hanging from the tripod screw mount, especially if I had a big lens on there. I'm sure it can handle the weight, but it still makes me nervous.

Yeah - but if it was a metal stud and ring on the tripod mound screw I wouldn't be as nervous.

I hate the stock strap on my cameras, I really want something else.

There has to be a way to use it w/o a tripod color. In the demo vid it shows him using it with a short lens :dunno:

It just attaches to the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera body.

They've been tested to 200lbs. And I just ordered one.

I been using the R Strap for a few months now... I personally love it! I haven't had any issues with it yet... I'm using it on my D300 with the battery grip.

I generally make sure the screw is tightened down before I put it on... but no issues so far.

So you think it's worth the money? The clip on the strap is metal i take it since it's tested to 200lbs?

i know that, but the pictures on the product website show black hardware and while 200lbs rating suggests metal, black could still be plastic

It's a neat idea, but with a little innovation, you could probably make your own without having to pay $50 for it.

oh, and you can powdercoat metal. ;)

that's what i've been looking for. well. not really looking, but when im out shooting i usually hang my cam off one sholder and prefor that but i always have to be extra careful to keep it from sliding off. but this will solve that issues totally!

It might be a little pricey for what you get, but I still love it. I have both hands free and can easily swing up the camera to get the shot I want. It doesn't dangle on my chest nor do I have to keep making sure the strap doesnt slide off my shoulder.

I don't think I've ever taken it off since I got it other than when I'm attending a wedding as a guest and I'm in my suit.

could you wear it while in a suit?

I'm considering one for my 2nd camera when i'm shooting weddings.

Hell, maybe two! One over each shoulder, like a wild west sheriff!!

lol, if you do that you have to get a picture of yourself with both cameras, preferably while wearing a Stetson.

You still can use it with a suit... it just got too much for me. Easier to just hold it.

But if I was doing a wedding, for sure I'd use it, regardless of the suit. I'm just saying I don't use it when I wear suits to weddings as a guest.
