Anyone ever heard of them? I was perusing Gunbroker just wasting time looking for a stripped lower to start an AR build soon and ran across this company. Did some research and it looks like they are a fairly new company. In fact so new that they just solidly started getting lowers put out a couple weeks ago.

Here is their stuff on Gunbroker:

    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Se...s.asp?SearchType=0&Keywords=black+rain&Sort=5

    Info on the lower:

-CNC machined from 7075 T6 billet aircraft grade aluminum
    -Flared magazine well
    -Battle Grooves in opposing front
    -Solid Winter trigger guard
    -Milled 3-D logo
-Hard coat grade III black anodizing with Teflon impregnated finish

I understand everyone says a lower is a lower is a lower...pretty much pick your favorite rollmark and go from there, but I've actually been reading some bad stuff about Sun Devil lately with issues with their trigger pin holes being oversized. Anyway it looks pretty solid and $220 for a billet lower doesn't seem too bad. Like the milled logo and solid trigger guard...also like the fact they are about 60 miles north of me.

Opinions? Their stuff seems pretty sexy, but I don't know if anyone had heard anything about them elsewhere. They make a dust cover too that says "Let It Rain," but it's kinda gay

  2. Someone on barfcom just posted about theirs. They paid $285 for it. I really don't see the appeal in a really expensive lower that doesn't do anything a standard lower can't do, and being billet is actually weaker than a forged lower.

Never heard of them. Personally I'd buy 2 SA lowers and magpul moe trigger guards for $200 and spend the extra $20 on a bottle of whiskey but ymmv. Its hard to screw up a lower, if its worth an extra $120 to you then sure why not? I just bought $50 blemished uppers though so maybe looks are more important to you than me.

Meh, I don't like a trigger guard I can't swap out. Customization is part of the AR platform's appeal.

I personally wouldn't go to gunbroker for a lower. I don't see the point

Sweet.... another expensive AR lower that pretty much looks like all the others!

Instead of just copying everyone else's lead, why doesn't one of these companies do something a little different (besides milling out a different flute here or there) and make a sidecharger or something worth paying for.

The only thing I want to see added to the original TDP spec lower is the rear QD cup present on the SR15E3.
