The model is a buddy of mine that moved to LA a few weeks ago, small world. And i've been trying to broaden my model/people photography, sooooo, this is the result.

These are the unedited pics from the set:

The last one was a planned composite, what i'm most interested in for feedback. First time doing an elaborate composite that is my personal work, and not for Import Tuner.

threw in an extra to "ground" the picture above

    thoughts? questions?

Great shots. Reminds me instantly of Jarvis.

Goddamnit, you're making me feel bad. I can never get a composite to look nearly as clean as that. Agreed on the Jarvis comment too.

hell yeah son. Do not like the fake blur on the chunks of the street he's picking up, but everything else looks good.

    Fullsize of all of them?

    thanks for the feedback!
aCab, the blur was the last thing i did, i was on the fence about it too. Without it, it looks too still, but with it, they look kinda fake. Maybe i'll just reduce the effect.

Now that i've converted one of the images of him into a composite, i must match the rest to that picture. Unfortunately I can't really showcase the original pics, even though they look kinda cool. Here's one from the original set:

I'll get a high-res version of the composite tomorrow. I'm away from my main desktop :p

The Jarvis comment is greatly humbling, I definitely want to pursue this type of style further.

    quite simple really.
ABR800 ringflash w/ softbox for main light
    580ex for rim/extra light.
Both from basically a 45 degree angle

    Clint, kick ass mang!

The composite looks really good, but the blur on the rocks either has to go or you need to add some to his arms. You can't have blur on the rocks and not on the arms if he's supposedly picking them up. Also, lessen the blur just a bit.

    Nice work!

Ya we've teamed up on a few shoots, and whoever is the designated "helper" of the shoot always gets a few shots off. This was "my" shoot. I set up the location, model, lights, etc. John was helping :)

But he has a very different look than me. My style is more sharp and contrasty, where John likes to utilize the sun and make the image more dreamy.

like your style a lot, the concept you show here is extremely clear and absolutely on point. fantastic with this model.

Works a ton better with the model than the dreamy sunny afternoon.
I expect to see young teen girls skipping around in sundresses.

he's got a good look, he pulls it off pretty well.
He's in a phase of shooting into the sun, which can be really cool if you have a flash powerful enough to overpower the sun.

This is his select from teh shoot:
