Went out yesterday and took some shots. Started at about 5pm or so and the sun was really not helping (those shots were the ones on the parking garage), ended up finishing at about 8:30 or so. This is my first time really shooting a black car, and man what a pain in the butt it is. Car had some bad swirl marks as you can see in one of the shots and the neither the owner nor myself had a towel or anything to wipe it down with.

    please C&C

And here are a couple that are very similar shots to a couple above but I did some different PP on.

The 'scented tree' on the rear view mirror sure is distracting.

Why is there honda branding on the integra? Or is it an accord with acura bolt-ons?

You guys have any tips on how to make a black car pop? I know my locations sucked, I just didnt really plan the shoot all that well unfortunately :( Where we went was packed with other cars that decided they felt like being where I wanted to shoot the car against.

The reflections of light in photo #5 are distracting, both along the left edge of the photo and in the rear quarter of the car. Editing them out would be nice.

Nice car tho. I'd pimp it.

    Distracting background - check
    Soft photos - check
    Center weighted photos - check
    White balance off - check
    Typical photos - check
    Tacky air freshener - check
    Pelf - check

You do not want stray signs, trees, objects, and etc. sticking out of the car(#8).

Best time of day to shoot any car is at sunset, or if you're up for it, sunrise.

I know it's "JDM COOL" to have a Honda emblem, but it's really disturbing to the rest of the world.

    Lastly, use a tripod.

    EDIT:

Pics may look soft cause you're using photbucket.

Hmmm, now that I compare the two, the pictures from photobucket do seem soft and they seem like the colors are more washed out than what I'm looking at in lightroom. I was using Photobucket to resize the pictures.

Does FlickR usually keep the pictures more true to what is saved on my screen?

Most of the shots were taken on a tripod, and most of them were at sunset (the shots on the parking garage were not, the ones at the marina were).

    salvage title.

I only say that because I had one when I was younger and it was stolen.....= salvage title

Everyone that I ask has had theirs stolen at least once.

If this was directed at me, the criticism is the main reason I post here. Most of the sites I post on will say "awesome pics", and that doesn't help me at all, especially when I know they're not awesome. I know I can count on ot to tell me how bad I suck and why the pictures aren't good.

And the car has a clean title. The owner also just sold a championship white 97 ITR with a clean title too. Although his jdm front auto integra got stolen a few years ago.

Definitely the case. I had no idea photobucket did that. Just rehosted through FlickR and changed the first 10 photo's. They're MUCH sharper now.

#11 - Is it just me or is the car out of focus and the foreground in focus?
