Do you think it is appropriate for white or lower belts to have them?
Sure, after awhile, I just stopped caring.
What about this one?
red gis ftw.
I was going to ask why you would care, and I see I'm not alone.
Honestly, I don't care. I always chuckle to myself to see the brand new white belts in the red and other brightly colored gis, but whatever floats your boat. I won't buy anything that's not white at this point.
We have students in our class with black gi's who are white belts. No one gives a shit. It's not like we roll harder against them. It's all good, unless it's some $50 camo gi, then I'll bust out the neck crank techniques
I voted no, but that's because I haven't trained since the surge in mainstream popularity of bjj and grappling...
All my competing and experience is mostly in judo anyway... and the sensei I had wouldn't have allowed that
i'm a white belt and i have a blue gi
I don't know about bjj, but in judo white and blue are the allowed colors, so that's pretty normal to me.
i have a bigger problem with dirty fuckers with smelly gi
looks retarded. when i started it was white and blue. now every new white belt wants to buy a black gi. its ugly and i dislike it
It's odd for me, actually. I started out wearing mostly pink and black gis, odd colors. The more I travel and grow in the sport, I prefer using blue and white. It's generally regarded as show boating to wear an oddly colored gi, so at least be able to back it up.
i dont like them because they fade quick and look like ass. Im a big fan of white
I don't care. That said I only have white gi's.
A student gave me a brand new camo gi, it's a bit big but it's cool. I'd like to wear it but I don't wanna risk insulting my old school teachers.
White belt, white gi.
im a blue belt with a white gi.
blue gi for me.
I got some looks when I wore a blue gi when I first started.
But that's what the instructor sold me when I started so whatever.
I personally don't think it matters at all. Just their personality type (camo, pink, whatever) or what was sold to them. Nothing I need to be judgmental about.
I only wear white gi's, but I don't care what anyone else wears.
My school sells blue and white Gis to new folks depending on what they have in stock. I dont really care what color someone is wearing as long as they dont stink.
