I have some Fiberglass inserts for a headlight housing that I need to paint, and I'd like it to be a nice Black Chrome but I don't want to spend over 100 dollars just to get it chromed. Is there some quality Spray can type of paint that'll accomplish this?

    Thanks!

Not likely. For the chrome to look right, it has to be one solid, unbroken surface, unlike metallic paint with tiny metal flakes in it. Obviously you're not going to get any solid stuff that can come through a spray nozzle, so unless someone's invented a magic metal that starts out as a liquid and then hardens when exposed to air, you're going to have to get the parts electroplated to get a smooth, reflective finish.

duplicolor makes a metalcast black chrome paint. Doesnt really work that well but you could always give it a try.

It's probably just chrome flake mixed with translucent black pigment. Pearl Black Mica, I think it's called on some cars.
