i was reading wikipedia so im not sure how reliable the info is for obvious reasons but it said that their will not be any redbelts after the founders die.

how come? Will they just not promote the 9th-10th degree black belts due to gracie politics?

it doesnt mean that much. its an honorary thing for the founders of jiu jitsu. in jiu jitsu a black belt is a black belt.

it depends on the system. Some systems have red belt for the founders only but others use the red belt as a symbol of the head of a system. When the guy said there can only be one red belt that meant that he was talking about the head of the system. At the end of the movie when the old man gave him the red belt he made him the head of the system.

Example being of helio gracie died then some one else would have to be the head of Gracie Jiu Jitzu more then likely it would be rickson. They always need a head in the system because a lot of these martial arts have legal aspects to address and these guys hold all the schools together.
