thought this was cool..
bets on whether the program gets shut down due to the jits kids hurting the regular population?
I wish I would have started BJJ in HS. I feel like 23 was too late.
I feel its never too late but thats cause I started at 25.
i started at like 18, but didn't really go to an actual school and do "formal training" until 20
oldman who holds bronze medal in JUDO from the Soviet Olympics > *
man if jiu jitsu became like high school wrestling that would be pretty
i still probably would've wrestled though
A purple belt at my gym is also a high school teacher and started a HS BJJ program after school.
A lot of the kids in the program are wrestlers, but can only train with him in the off season, obviously.
I started at 21 and feel like it was too late. Wish I'd listened to my dad and started when he did almost 3 years earlier.
what belt is your dad
I started at 21 also.
Almost got his blue belt, then hurt his shoulder and ended up quitting. I think he and I trained for like 3 weeks together before he hurt himself (at work of all shit) and in his late 40s, couldn't get it rehabbed well enough that he could come back.
time to do the ADCC trials dawg
i started at 19, I don't think this was too late since I was more mature and ready to train hard at this age. I think if I started in HS i wouldn't have been that focused on it and it would have been a waste of money (alot of money).
I see alot of HS kids at my club at the 4:30 class, the guys who wrestle are the ones who work the hardest.
wrestling is HUGE at my old highschool(state champs for the last 7yrs, and ranked #1 in the nation a few times).... It'd be cool if they had a jiu jitsu program too
i find that people who know how to fight are less likely to get in a fight
plus, the kids know they are going to get boot out of the program if they RNC somebody
in our school it was never the wrestlers that got into fights.. it was always the football players, or metal/goth kids (were very few of them, I live in a rual community)
I wish I started earlier. Started @ 23.
I started at 22, took some time off because life got in the way, now i'm back to jits at 26
i think that's a good age to start jits @23 you should be done with college, late night parties, and banging std chicks
I fucking hope not. I hope to be banging STD chicks well into my 30's.
all I do is work, eat, sleep, hang out with the SO and bjj. I'm the youngest at the gym, but sometimes I wish I started earlier. Either way, I'm happy.
nothing's wrong with that. Dude in my gym is training for the Mundial while banging random STD chicks on the weekends.
