So today I rolled pretty good. No subs as usual but I'm getting more aggressive.

I rolled with a wrestler who pretty much just loved to toss me around like a rag doll. I got him in an armbar and began to arch up when he decided to lift me up with his arm and swing me around.

Yes, he started to SWING me. He was doing this kneeling btw.

I wanted to swing with him and use the momentum to straighten the arm up even more, but I knew that if I held on longer, he would have injured himself by popping his arm or shoulder...so I just aborted and let go.

With that said, what could I have done to avoid being picked up again?

Pinch the leg on his neck down HARD. Make sure you're not crossing your ankles. Hook the leg if need be.

The armbar I got him in was the one with crossed ankles. What do I do in this situation?

Calf crunched down over his neck (closer to back of skull) and driving him as if you want him to lose his posture and fall on to his back. Dont want to give him the opportunity to stack you, let along pick you up and swing you like a rag doll.

Pinch the knees, dont cross the ankles. And next time just hurt his arm. If he is going to be a retard and do that to himself, he needs to learn

:werd: I try to be a good training partner, but if you don't want to tap, that's your fault. I've put a few guys I train with to sleep because they don't tap. :dunno:

There used to be this Peruvian wrestler that would come in and he used to like to get a little wild and sometimes he would try to slam me. I started getting a little tired of it and every chance I got I was cranking submissions alittle harder or tossing him whenever I could

Our boxing coach is that way. He gets frustrated and tries to force stuff and I've really grown tired of it. Asshole tried to can opener me off the ground a few weeks ago, so I bumped him over and heel hooked him. Fuck that. If you can't play nice I won't either, and I'm a damn sight better at him than BJJ.

Hey Bon, If you're free tonight, stop by the gym. It will probably be the last night we have to roll there.

:wtc: Missed this post. Is it officially shut down or do we still have open mat on saturdays?

Ok, so I should just go back to the old arm bar, and work on hooking the leg. Thanks gays

Revert back to the hammered armbar. if it feels like it will slip when you uncross your feet reach up and grab him and keep him down for you to re-adjust.

That sucks balls. If you're itching to roll you can drop by my gym. The mats aren't all that but they're better than nothing. Plus you get to roll with a different crowd.

    I'm doing this:

I was afraid of doing this because I thought I would slip and lose position altogether lol. I'll work on re-adjusting as a drill the next time I roll.

Thanks for the tip. I'm still working on getting the habit of squeezing my legs together. I'll add this when I drill.
