“… I know there are a lot of people out there doing steroids, cheating and every time I run into one of them, I’m going to call them on it and then I’m going to beat the shit out of them.… It’s going to be a historic night because all the kids out there will realize that you can do it with just hard work alone … he wants to say he has heart and all this different shit, but you can’t confuse steroids with heart…. It’s two different things, a guy with heart is a guy doing it with blood, sweat and tears, waking up with the sore back, the sore body.… What would happen in the old days when you get caught with a couple of aces up your sleeve, they kill the guy right there and that’s why I say Sean Sherk is dead….”

    .

Anyone who doesn't is a fucking hypocrite.

You can't want bigger, faster, stronger, and more entertaining athletes, who can perform time after time and not get injured, and then complain when one of them tests positive for steroids.

You want to keep raising the bar, they're going to keep raising the things they will do to meet it.

It may not be as prevalent in fighting because of the infrequency of the fights and penn may have a valid point in saying its cheating to use steroids to train harder/longer, but as a general statement, arguing against steroids in sports is hypocritical and completely devoid of any scientific argument; simply a shaky moral one.

I agree with this to a point.
If a drug has been proven to be effective in the short term and safe in the long term then I there's no reason for elite athletes to be allowed to use them.

After sherk beats penn he will be held in the same regard as those other legends.

Penn is far more talented and far more exciting, sherk is the better fighter.

Very doubtful of Sherk being more exciting to watch than BJ.

how can so many people sackride sherk over bj? It's a forgivable form of sackriding to be a huge bj nuthugger.

I want to see talented fighters. Guys who train hard, work their ass off and get where they deserve. Steroids is a short cut. If someone works hard enough on technique, there is no need to try to CHEAT to get the upper hand. Sorry, I could really care less how big, fast or strong each fighter is as long as they have talent.

they should allow sherk to use his steroids to train for at least this 1 fight so he can have a chance vs a much better and more rounded fighter which bj obviously is. i feel bad for poor deflated sherk he's gonna be trying to muscle his way out of bj's superior technique and it's just gonna be sad
