Someone in my GSG-5 thread mentioned that since I have a GSG-5PK, I need an HK-style briefcase.

Question is, could a CCW holder use such a device to conceal carry? I'm imagining that it wouldn't be any different from having an airweight in your jacket pocket......but you'd have a hard time explaining such a device to law enforcement

Anyway, another question. Could someone CCW a SBR?

It really depends on the state. Some states have a concealed weapons license and others have concealed handgun license. The GSG-5PK is a pistol so yes, it can be carried in states that issue concealed handgun licenses.

In FL you can carry anythin you want. You could walk around with an 870 in your pants as you didn't print.

i agree, it's pretty pointless in regards to self defense.

but, I CC my glock in my laptop bag when I go into work, the holster it when I leave. And I would need my CHP to do that

I already have mine. The class I went to was 1 day, $150 and breakfast, lunch dinner, guns, ammo, as well as some intermediate instruction from a TDI instructor. It's the only class I recommend in Central Ohio, but that is just from experience and the fact that I am impatient and would only take a 1 day class anyways.

But long guns dont. So if it were an SBR and not a pistol, then you could carry with a holster.

Was that at the New Albany range? I guess it would be more convenient to do it that way, but their prices have gone up... Their one day course is $200 and even their two day Sat/Sun course is $180.

Oh, and any trouble getting the application filled out? It has to be signed by Franklin county sheriff, correct? Or can the city police chief sign it (like a Form 1)?

I took it at a place called "On The Defense". It is taught out of a woman's home up in Alexandria.

Nah, just download it off of the Sheriff's website. You can go to Franklin county or any county that touches Franklin. You have to make an appointment to go in. You have to go through the County, but they don't ask any questions. In Delaware County they have a girl in the Sheriff's office whose only job is CHL.

You can actually fire while an MP5 is in that breifcase cant you? I think that depending on the situation, a person could deem that brandishing, not just carrying.

It has a hole for a barrel and a trigger on the handle to fire it. It's a weapon despite the fact that it doesn't look like one. I didn't say it was automatic, but it is debateble. Everyone in this thread has seen that breifcase and knows what it's purpose is. If I saw a person acting aggressive holding a breifcase with a trigger on the handle, I would see that as a threat. Which to me, is brandishing. :dunno:

If someone was acting aggressive with their finger in their coat pocket pointing it at people, would that be brandishing? I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I'm wondering if this is the case.
