Aight, I have PTC.v1.0.0-beta.2 as my bittorent program. This has been the most successful program I've tried yet... But it still has some problems that I can't seem to overcome.

There are a couple torrents that go through and say a certain port is "blacklisted" so it won't open. Is there anyway to bypass this? What is causing this?

Are there any other programs that would be better?

Any help is greatly appreciated. :x:

Usually it'll say blacklisted if the isp you're using doesn't like giving a good bandwidth for using p2p programs. It aslo usually only lasts 48 hours.

Here's a good faq for it and some info on how to get around it.

  4. The author of the tracker can also manipulate what port to use in retaliation to what the ISP are doing. I have seen some trackers who for this very reason refuse to use the standard ports.

    Like these guys.

Make sure what's what by reading the tracker's operations FAQ.
