i recently started the bill starr 5x5 workout for the purpose of adding some mass to my legs. correct me if im wrong, this would be the best routine for building legs, right?

anyway, the madcow version alternates between rows, deads, squats, bench, and military press, as you all know...

is it ok for me to work out my calves as well with this? and also, would it be ok to do some pushups every day or would that be overkill?

    thanks in advance.

    adding both would be fine.

I can understand wanting to do some extra calf work, but why do you want to add the pushups?

re: pushups, i had always been under the impression that while they do nothing for mass, a 100 or so per day can do a little bit of help for strength.
