Just curious what everyone has going on in their garages this winter?

Me I got a few projects going, but this is for bike crew so im building/modding my 07 DRZSM so I can do some hooligan/stunt riding in the spring.

Showing 8 miles on the odo and shes already being ripped apart for powdercoat, most of the cosmetic stuff is done or ordered, now I just gotta order some go faster parts and I'll be golden.

My 05 gixxer will get wave rotors and maybe a slip on exhaust, im pretty happy with the way she is now. Anyone else care to share? I dont have any updated pics so I'll post the most recent.

This is after we pulled off some of the useless shit like mirrors, reflectors, stickers, etc.

I'll try and get pics tomorrow with the coated pieces on.

My Gix, which im sure most have seen.

While you have the DRZSM apart it needs a few things. First and foremost toss the POS CV carb for a 39mm Keihin FCR plus pull snorkel out of the airbox and cut a 3x3 hole in the top of the airbox. Then put a 440 kit in that bish.

The FCR carb kit will be ordered just after the new year along with a full Yoshi pipe. Im debating the Atena 440 kit. I kinda wanna leave the internals alone to keep it reliable so I can still commute with it. I plan on buying a CRF450 for dirt and track.

    I'm getting new:
    front and rear brakes
    chain and -1/+2 sprockets
    front tire
    shift kit

They're all my Christmas gifts. Hopefully I can finish it all between Christmas and New Years so I can go riding early next year :)

I've yet to hear of any problems with any DRZs after going to a 440. But its not a necessary upgrade like the FCR is.

How often do you have to rebuild these single piston motors? I've heard frequently with KTM and Hondas MX bikes, but Im assuming with my DRZ since its detuned not as frequent, correct? But I was thinking to save some money I will do the 440 when its time to do a rebuild. Thoughts?

I know the guys on the honda 650L bikes are going over 10k on the commuter only bikes. I would think it would be similar for the DRZ. I think my friend had 11k on his when he sold it. He beat the crap out of the bike too. Ask around on ThumperTalk.

I might be swapping a lower mileage engine into my EX250, but said engine would need a HG first. I'm definitely going to do an intake/carb/exhaust swap though, my carbs aren't set up too well and my exhaust has gotten rather loud.
