What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? I'm not sure which one to join.
where in ATL are located and which ones are you looking at?
Big gym= cheap but crowded small gym= more expensive but better
i might go to ATL during spring break to visit my peoples
what it gods name for?
I'm in S. Cobb on the Westside of I-285.
I don't like people looking at me when I work out. Which is best?
to visit my peoples
ahh, its not much of a party town....a few small bar districts but its no Panama City.
get over it.
or set up a home gym
i'm not really a partier (even though my friend Shawn runs atlparty.net), i'd mostly be going to see friends whom i haven't seen in a long time. Plus there's some hot chicks who want to bang =x
good reasons then
Um stay on topic people.
You seem to have this misconception that everyone is going to be staring at you while you lift.
It's really not like that at all. Most people are focused on their own workouts or if they're in between sets they might just be looking around but I never specifically watch people unless its a buddy and they're lifting some heavy shit or something.
i wouldnt worry about how many square feet the gym has. i find the one that has the equipment that will suit my workout routine (power rack, squat rack, bench, roman chair, etc), convient (rather jog for 3-5min to warm myself up before lifting), open and closing times, cost (more likely the bigger gym cost more)
i think it feels good to have people look at you when your lifting heavy shit like cave said. believe it or not, when i dead 315lb, people their think im a beast (fyi: 90% beach boys)
People look at me when I deadlift. That's because nobody ever deadlifts in my gym but me and some asian dude.
When I'm doing anything else sometimes i'll catch a hottie staring at me, but usually it's the fatties
I'm the most self-conscious motherfucker you'll ever meet and what other people think in the gym has never bothered me.
As long as small gym != shitty gym, then I'd go with that. My school gym is a small gym, but it sucks ass too.
