I recently downloaded the BF2 Demo, im currently running it on the 1024X748 setting, i run all the options on medium. The game lags a tiny bit but i get used to it, my question is, i only have 512mb of ram, if i were to up that to 1gig, would it make a big difference? My system right now is:

    AMD 64-bit 3000+
    512mb DDR3200
    Gforce FX 5700 Ultra

...i know the graphics card isnt all that, but right now im not in any position to afford a new graphics card, most i can do right now is shell out 50 bucks on a 512mb, so will i be able to tell a difference in the game? thanks for the help lately guys.

When I had 512 ram and I was playing CS:S, I would get times of choppy gameplay that would last 5 or 6 seconds, and they usually happen when a level is first loaded, and a maybe a few times afterwards. It wasn't choppy framerate from a bad videocard (geforce 6800), but from loading things into memory.

When I upgraded to 1gb, all that choppiness went away.

You will notice a difference yes. You will also notice a difference when you eventually upgrade your vid card, cause the FX5xxx series was utter crap.

I would love to upgrade my graphics card, but i dont have 200$ to spend, so i guess the RAM is the next best thing, thanks for the input guys.

For little less that $130 you can get a GeForce 6600 (vanilla, not-GT) 128MB from newegg.com
    Or for $150 you can get a 6600GT 128mb

your card sucks, if you really want to make your fps better, with no lag, turn your res to 800x600 eventhough its bad, its better than not playing....and turn some stuff to low
