I did my first few months db only, now it's almost all bb, except for some incline and decline, I think I'll switch it up a bit more, this post has no point

Just alternate one day DB flat and BB incline then other day BB flat and DB incline. Profit.

Exactly. I have become very good at using DB's and suck ass on BB, so recently I've been sticking to BB A LOT.

    i think i'm a little better with DB's. 100's x 3 vs 225 x 1. I alternate every few weeks and am currently on db.

I do almost all DB because I dont have a partner, and i have a tendency to push myself too far with weights, and i kind of hate getting stuck under the bar so i stray away from BB bench press...

why do people think that if youre putting up 185BB that directly translates into 92.5 pounds in each hand?

you're holding a bar with two hands as opposed to a db in each... logically, where do you think you'll put up more weight

from what i see, people do barbell bench because thats what "bench" is when you think of it...a barbell

    My bb max is 265.

The highest I have gone on flat dumbbells is 90 - it's too hard for me to get setup without some behind me helping my elbows up. I need a training partner :hs:

i've noticed that whatever i do on bb, i can usually do the actual weight on each side with db.

    ie. bb @ 225, 2X45 on each side, db @ 90. :dunno:

thats about how it works out for me, I usually do bb for bench and db for incline and shoulder press.

    Well your personal opinion SUCKS.

Like chris said, its good to have some variety in your routine and switch things up. My BB bench is waaay stronger than my DB, so I've been doing a lot of DB work recently.

I personally like putting a barbell in each hand and doing bench that way.. :hs:

I have no choice but to hit BB for chest if I want to go heavy.

My gym recently went on a Nazi spree and removed all DB's heavier than 90lbs, took out the squat rack and military press machine. :ugh:

I signed up for a brand new gym but they don't open until mid-may.
