Does anybody have suggestions for a better alternative to Unison news reader. I like the interface, but find it processor intensive. I'm running a 1.33 ghz powerbook G4 with 1.5ghz of ram so I thought that it should be fast enough, but Unison still slows up sometime.

No issues with 1.33GHz PowerBook with 768megs.

No issues with 1.42GHz Mini with 1gig.

Do a repair permissions on your disk. Might want to check out "Mac Janitor" that also clears logs and stuff like that.
