Ok, some of you expressed interest in beta testing the banking app I've been working on for the past week or two in my spare time. I finally got the saving to work and i think its ready for some beta testers.

First, here are some screenshots :eek5:

    Default Screen
    [IMG]

    Credit Card tab
    [IMG]

    Deposits tab
    [IMG]

Withdraws tab (need to change to Withdrawals I guess :hsd: )

    Add Entry form
    [IMG]

    About page
    [IMG]

    Download Here:
    http://www.collegebarscene.com/cocoa/ClearBank_OT.zip

    How to Use the App
    Installation
    -Download and unzip
    -put it wherever you want
    -run the application

    Usage
    -Add a new item.
    ---Enter the date
    ---Enter the amount
    ---Enter the type
    ---Description (optional)
---Account (optional) I use this to differentiate withdraws from my checking/debit/credit card
---Click Add. By default it stays up there so you can enter multiple items. Click the close button or Done if you want to close it.

    -Current Tab:
    ---All items listed
    ---Click headers to sort

    -Credit Tab:
---All items listed as credit card account

    -Deposits:
---All deposits made to the account

    -Withdraws:
---All withdrawls including credit card purchases

There is a running total at the bottom of every page that shows you how much the total is for each tab.

To delete an item, select the row and click the delete button.

The data will save automatically when you exit, but you can still hit Command + S or go to File-> Save to save it.

It saves the data here: ~/Library/Application Support/ClearSky/ just incase anyone is wondering.

Please test it out and let me know if you find any errors and let me know of features i can add in the future.

If you find errors, let me know what verison of OSX you're using and what you were doing when the error occured.

    Thanks guys :coold:

    //edit 1:
oh yeah, it should work on OSX86 machines as well :noes:

    Just downloaded it. Looks great.

I'll start using it today. I need to make a deposit and pay some bills.

When adding an entry if you click "done" is doesn't add the entry (which i thought it might), meanwhile clicking "add" adds it and opens the same menu again.

Maybe rename "done" to cancel, or have it behave so it adds that entry, then closes the window?

Or perhaps i'm the only one who expected the window to work that way. ;)

Nice app, though. Any way to have it have a £ sign as well? Doesn't change anything, just the aesthetics.

ah, good advice. I'll change the name of the Done button and in a future version also have the option for US, UK, etc

    mine doesnt work...

    OS 10.3.9 iBook G3, 800MHz, yeah...

Doesnt start up, it bounces in the dock, then i get the window...

"The application myBank has unexpectedly quit.

The system and other applications have not been affected.

Would you like to submit a bug report to Apple?

then i get two buttons, u know the drill

Why does it say myBank there, but the app is titled ClearBank, and when its in the dock it says ClearBank?

I got it right from that link

And, why cant i drag apps to my Applications folder? I cant drag anything there, wtfbbq? I dont remeber it being like this.

    hmmmm.

myBank is what i named the application when i started coding it. It must still be saved in there somewhere.

I'll have to figure out if there's some way to get it to work in a non 10.4.x version. There's gotta be some options or something in XCode to allow for that.

I'll look into it and see what's up.

About 3 weeks. i'd work on it anywhere from a half hour to 3 hours a day for those 3 weeks. basically just whenever i had spare time :o

There was a lot of learning involved too. I'm sure for someone who's been working with Cocoa Apps before this might take a day or two to write.

Hey guys, bad news.... It was like 2 in the morning and i was half asleep. I had some files in the project I didn't need anymore. I went to delete them but wasn't paying attention and ended up deleting the main project files

So yeah, I deleted the project and its gone forever.

i will however rebuild it eventually. I already figured out how to make it 11ty times better.
