need it to be low impact too, would eliptical be best?
i'm guessing you could do HIIT cycling, eliptical, rowing etc
On an HIIT program adapted to the stair stepper, holding 10 lb plates in each hand i lost about 12% body fat in around 14 weeks. Keep in mind this is only 20 minutes 4x a week, accompanied by hard lifting and clean eating though.
do you have pics of the difference in 14 weeks?
HIIT elliptical ftw.
HIIT in running or stairmaster
Im sheer shame i deleted all the pics of myself when i was fat.
what's an HITT?
High Intensity Interval Training. it's basically cardio in bursts. eg 30 seconds (light) jog then 30 seconds full sprint, jog, sprint, repeat.
4x a week sounds like a lot...
did your numbers go down?
Spin class kicked my ass into shape. Plus I was forced to do it because no way I was getting up in the middle of class and walking out. Any other cardio I can talk myself out of in a heartbeat.
a 1:3 work to rest ratio is better... 15/45 or 30/90
"better" meaning more effective in burning calories?
Are you saying 15 seconds of hard work then 45 seconds of rest or the opposite?
1:3 = work:rest = sprint:jog
So it would be 15 of sprinting, 45 of jogging.
I follow Maffetone, give me 60 minutes at a talking pace I think is better for fat loss.
is this based off a report or personal experience?
learn something new everyday i'm gonna try this later
Anything that keeps your heart rate up to the point where your burning both sugar and fat at the same time..
I play at least 45 minutes of hard Squash everyday of the week. I have lost about nine pounds or so in around a month.
I was about 199 at 6'0" now I am around 190. I am just trying to get back down to around 175 or 180 again after gaining some weight from work.
i ride my bike for my cardio
im going to try the 1:3 thing. how long do you guys go?
The best cardio for weight loss is a VARIETY of different types of cardio. 2 HIIT sessions a week + 1 long endurance session FTW.
