A&P Best way to run all of these flashes

    say i have 3 Vivitar 285HV, 1 sigma dg-500 super flash, and 2 sync cords. what would be the best way to run them for a strobist effect. i'm shooting with a 20d

    im reading about the Wein "Peanut" Microslave but cant find it for sale anywhere

    Peanuts require a socket in your flash, you can also get the wein HS (digital version) which connects to the hotshoe of your flash and gives you a tripod thread on the underside. These are optical slaves, they work well enough but keep in mind they have to be aligned somewhat to 'see' the first flash.

    with that many strobes you would be better off with something RF based. It will mean that you dont hvae to line strobes up, it also means you should get more reliable shots in daylight & you can hide flashes behind objects in the shot.
