WEB Best way to monitor traffic and where it's coming from?

    Make a footer.php file, include it on every page.. and put analytics in there.

    hostgator gives me live updated site stats on demand, awpstats. its rocking!

    i told them like im going to tell everyone HOSTGATOR IS AWESOME

    they have this chat room where they basically fix your problems. smart guys in there not ur usual tech support. 5 stars

    looks like that will run on windows too. and it looks like it wants a SQL db. is that right? how much configuring is involved?

    i use analytics and statcounter. Only reason I still use statcounter is because I just find it easy to monitor incoming links throughout the day

    A bit of fiddling but its fairly well documented its basically a decent SNMP interface.

    please see what hostgator had said regarding their chat support :
    { Most of the problems are from our live chat techs which our usually the trainees. When they don't know something they ask you to put a ticket in which upsets a lot of people. }

    Regarding website traffic stats I do use Awstats which is best and my host (webhosting.uk.com) offered me it for free. :)
