    Hey guys,

figured this would be the best place to ask on OT.

got some spare time these next weeks (college student) and would like to learn some basic php.

i already have a basic understanding of html.

any help would be greatly appreciated as i dont want to waste my time with ineffective methods...

    whats the best way?
book recommendations? website tutorials? pdf links? :x:

w3schools is how i started... then once i needed to learn something else, i'd just look for examples or tutorials.

find a book that goes through with a tutorial making something like a contact form, message board, guest book, etc.

after that use what you learned to make your own whatever.

    go from there

I'm doing this for CSS and JS right now. I thought CSS was really hard until last week when I installed Firebug and began looking at my friend's blog and then copying for it my blog:)mamoru:) and then I finally started to finally understand the syntax. I'm probably going to take the w3 school on html next, but I'm picking it up as I go along. I find looking at people's source code is the best way. I can't stand reading a tech book. I get distracted 20 pages in.
