I am real inflexible and would like to increase it. I am always training and spend a little time here and there stretching but i've never improved....I've never really had the goal of increasing flexibility..mostly just for warming up. I was wondering what the best way of going about doing this is?

maybe you should stretch more than "a little", like plan 15 minutes after your workout to stretch

A little time here and there doesn't cut it.

You just have to make stretching a part of your workout routine. With that and a little bit of foam rolling pre-workout you will be suprised how much better your training is.

I've been making it a habit to stretch my entire body before and after work outs (no matter what I'm lifting that day). It works.

Make sure your body is warmed up before you do any sort of static stretching.

How flexible do you want to get? I used to stretch for 15-25 minutes after every workout then i realized it was a complete waste of time as I was plenty flexible enough to do any everyday activity and most sports.

No point in paying $10/pop for yoga if all you want to do is touch your toes...

really, look up dynamic stretching. I used to be able to barely touch the top of my feet and now can put my palms flat on the floor and do the splits.

what kind of routine did you do? I can barely touch my fingers to my toes...or even my ankles. I also want to stretch out my calfs. The reason I would like to gain flexibility is because the lack of is affecting my krav maga training, and I just dont have the range of motion in my lower body to do some of the techniques.

i never do a warmup/stretch before working out. should i change this? i usually go straight into lifts start lighter then get heavy. Havent been injured yet, should i start warming up?

Just doing really basic dynamic warmup stuff for a few minutes helps me a lot. My horrible flexibility is still fucking up my lifts, but not AS much as when I don't do any warmup.

I'll usually do static stretches for my legs between sets of whatever I'm hitting. I'm already warm that way and feel l get a better stretch in the process.

jump on the treadmill for at least 5 minutes at about 3.5mph...general warmup increases overall bloodflow and body temperature, like preheating an oven before you put your cake in. Would you put a cake in a cold oven and then turn it on? No it would suck, you are not a chef get out of the kitchen.
