Best way to hook bookshelf speakers up to my computer?

    Buy a receiver.

    Or you could buy an amplifier like this: http://www.apexjr.com/D25Sub.html You would need to buy the transformer too, but the total cost is 25 dollars before shipping, pretty damn cheap. I have one and it puts out a good amount of power. You will also likely need to fabricate some kind of cabinet to mount the amplifier to though....

    So the reciever might just be the easiest option. You can get cheap ones for like 100 dollars.

    I use an older Onkyo analog receiver and some AR Bookshelves. All you need is a mini plug to RCA Adapter (for some sound cards) and a length of RCA Patch cable. pretty simple really.
