Sorry to ask here but I don't know how often people frequent that thread anymore.

I rock climb thursdays and sometimes tuesdays and sundays. Rock climbing is pretty much bicep, shoulders, core and legs.

What's the best way to fit in the routine so that I'm not over training? thanks

well "over training" will affect how sore I am when rock climbing, thus hindering my progress

I was thinking Monday- back, tuesday- chest (maybe climb), wed off, thursday- legs, friday arms and shoulders

that way on days I climb, I'm not running myself down at the gym for climbing

dont do purs routine if you're worried about being sore for rock climbing. or rock climb while you're sore and harden the fack up

I'm not worried, I was just trying to do be smart about it. And it has nothing to be with being "hard", I just once again want to go about it the right away. Working biceps before rock climbing is stupid.

What about off days- I'm interested to hear what you guys think since you don't believe in over training. Should I have days where I don't go to the gym or climb or can I do them both all week?

soreness doesn't really seem that bad after you've worked out for a while. not being sore doesn't indicate a shitty workout.

actually you should be using your legs for most of the upward motion. your hands just keep you on the wall.

Depends on what you're doing, really, but for beginners, year.

    :dunno:

my older bro before going back to school for his masters in geology was a climbing instructor and competed in cash comps always said it's all about the legs.

It's about the legs because proper foot work will save you a lot of energy and yes, you want to derive the power from your legs not your arms. But when you are climbing top rope or sport climbing, I can assure you your forearms, biceps and shoulders will be the most sore. And when you campus (no feet) then you obviously really work the upper body

Can i get a definitive answer though, just help a noob out please

I would feel comfortable moving the days to

    monday- back
    tuesday- chest
    wednesday off
    thursday- legs
    friday- shoulders and arms

    is that okay?
