best way to convert video files for an ipod touch?

    upgraded to the 32gb gen3 and would like to convert movies/blue-rays that i have on my pc (.mkv .avi .mov), . I just need some suggestions on what program to use (don't care if it's free or not).

    Handbrake usually.

    If you have a bunch of macs available and/or a bunch of stuff to convert, Compressor.

    i used to use visualhub, but it crashes on snow leopard. i like video monkey

    sorry to break the chain, haven't really used handbrake too much

    Hand Brake or Clone DVD Mobile if you happen to be on the PC side... (I know they have handbrake for the pc as well... but I prefer Clone DVD for the PC)

    Hmm...I haven't had a problem with Visualhub on Snow Leopard at all. I've converted nearly 20 movies without a hitch. I got my Visualhub from a torrent too.

    ^ i actually bought visualhub, well worth the money - when it was still being updated etc

    i haven't been able to get it working in snow leopard, even after a fresh install. oh well

    nothing... but handbrake has better presets for multiple apple products and video settings
